Our Charlie Christian style single blade pickup fits into a standard sized humbucker route. Built with traditional Gibson style braided shield single conductor wire the top surface is textured satin black. Both the humbucker-sized surround and the blade are nickel plated.
Based on lower output PAF's often found in vintage 335's, this pickup set has a brighter overall tone than the Lollar Imperials. Bottom strings hold together without distorting noticeably longer than mosthumbuckers. Combine this with an overall "toppier" tone (as compared to theImperials) and the result gives exceptional definition for any chord voicing and great presence for coming through a mix.
The Lollar version of the mini humbucker is distinct. Compared with a vintage mini humbucker, ours is fatter and hotter and avoids extreme microphonics. Set against a full size humbucker, it sounds brighter and tighter. Play it softly for sweet tones, or hit it hard for serious snarl. Made with wax potted coils and sold individually or as sets.
Our 7-string humbuckers are available in Low Wind Imperial® or standard Imperial® versions. Ohm readings are higher than the 6-string versions due to longer coils, but overall performance will be the same.

Unbalanced coils keepthe bottom end tight for the amount of fullness the pickups have, overtonesbuild after each note is played.
Not to be confused with a Minibucker with no poles, our Fire bird® humbucker has a unique design and a sound closer to a fat single coil than a full-size humbucker. Compared with a Minibucker, it features a brighter overall sound and a bass response that remains tight and defined noticeably longer.

The F-Spaced Imperial® features the same specs as our Imperial® Humbucker but with wider pole spacing to accommodate the Fender bridge position or guitars equipped with a whammy bar. (Pole spacing is 2 and 1/16 "center-to-center of the two outside poles.) Wiring is 4-conductor only and comes in a wide range of cover options.
This isn't your typical humbucker. So if you think you don't like humbuckers, the El Rayo will change your tune. Tight and punchy with a high end that opens up when pushed, its lows remain fat and well-defined and capable of a meaty growl. It's also clear and articulate and extremely responsive to volume control and subjective picking dynamics so you can capture your own unique sound.
