B&B PICKUPS CLASSIC '61...

HANDMADE GUITAR PICKUPS HAND WOUND BY HAND. ESTIMATED MANUFACTURING TIME 14-23 DAYS - DOMESTIC DELIVERY 1-3 DAYS AND 1-13 WORKING DAYS DEPENDING ON COUNTRY.

In the early 60's, Gibson standardized on alnico V magnets in their PAF's, resulting in a detailed sound with presence. Our replicas are built with the materials used then: 42 AWG plain enamel copper wire, alnico V magnets, nickel silver (brass-free) cover and mounting plate, steel screw fastening bar, and maple wood shim. As options, the winding can be between 7 and 9 kO, and the pickups can be supplied with or without cover, with butyrate coils. Also, the output cable can be single-wire and wire-mesh-jacketed, or four-wire plus ground for split coil.

B&B PICKUPS ORIGINAL 57...

HANDMADE GUITAR PICKUPS HAND WOUND BY HAND. ESTIMATED MANUFACTURING TIME 14-23 DAYS - DOMESTIC DELIVERY 1-3 DAYS AND 1-13 WORKING DAYS DEPENDING ON THE COUNTRY.

The year 57 is a year that changed the world of the electric guitar with the appearance of humbuckers thanks to the ingenuity of Mr. Seth Lover who was working at that time in Gibson. This model tries to represent that first model of humbuckers that most manufacturers associate with the use of the alnico 2 magnet, although there is little evidence of this and it is said that in that first period from 56 to 61 Gibson used indistinctly the grades of alnico they had in stock.

B&B PICKUPS LATE '50 PAF'S...

HANDMADE GUITAR PICKUPS HAND WOUND BY HAND. ESTIMATED MANUFACTURING TIME 14-23 DAYS - DOMESTIC DELIVERY 1-3 DAYS AND 1-13 WORKING DAYS DEPENDING ON COUNTRY.

Our Late '50 PAF's use alnico IV, which subtly changes the character of the humbucker to sound smooth, sweet, yet full-bodied. There is not a lot of data on the magnets gibson used in this early period from '56 to '61, but it seems that he used alnico II as well as IV and V, but just as alnico II is associated with the '57 PAF's, so is alnico IV associated with the sound of Mark Knopfler and his '59 Les Paul.
