The Chicago Steel pickup is a steel guitar pickup design intended for slide players and based on specific 1940s Oahu/Valco/Supro lap steel pickups. Hound Dog Taylor sound with touch sensitive over-the-top output. Tone remains distinct even with heavy amp distortion. Intended for use as a bridge pickup. The overall tone is full with none of the ice-pick treble usually associated with a strat bridge pickup. This is a bridge pickup that sounds more like a neck pickup. Usually requires minor routing and slight pickguard modification. String spacing outside-to-outside of strings is 2.062" Precut pickguards available. Bridge 7.0K.
